Hello! My name is Danielle Crosby. I received my AA degree at Valencia College in 2022 and am currently pursuing a bachelor's in history at the University of Central Florida. My concentration is on Native American and North American history, with an additional background in archaeological practices. Currently, I serve as the team lead for the Public History Central Internship for UCF’s History Department.

History is something we all have, and I want to help engage in public outreach and encourage historical education for everyone, regardless of their identity. Working with different History Harvest collections from the internship has been a valuable learning experience, as I have connected with the community's people, heard their stories, and helped keep history alive. I also enjoy the behind-the-scenes work involved in archives or museums, which helps continue the preservation of artifacts.

My passion for history began when I was 14 in a U.S. History class. My teacher delved into sources that covered the lives of women, Native Americans, and African Americans, topics I had hardly ever encountered in previous classes; I felt compelled to explore their stories beyond that school year.
When I tell people that I study Native American history, some seem surprised, yet they are at the bleeding heart of American history. My goal is to raise awareness about the diverse range of American history and the role of Native Americans in today’s society.
